The sheperd's crook is the rail that connects between the wraparound rail and the front of the console. Each is one piece.

Would it hurt the rail if i cut it under the Tee for shipping ?You can still screw it together on each side of tee?
Thanks

In my opinion, yes it would hurt the strength of the rail. Passengers lean and pull pretty hard on those rails, and they need to be stiff/rigid enough to handle the loads. I am pretty sure that cutting the wraparound under that fitting where the shepard's crook attaches to it would significantly reduce the entire unit's rigidity.

You could cut the rail as long as you used a hot dog when re-assembled.

A hot dog is a short piece of pipe slightly smaller in diameter that goes inside the rail and bridges the cut.
