Installing a motor mount to transom of 13 Dauntless
I want to install a light weight motor mount for a transom mounted electric trolling motor. The weight of the motor is only about 25 lbs or so.
My concern is impacting the foam in the transom hull. I have had a swim ladder installed that involved but that we done be a local dealer.
What might be the safest way to do this myself and avoid the $110/hr from the dealer and the hassle and cost of going to the dealer for this?
This would be a light weight bracket that only requires 4 holes to be drilled. The bracket is rated for up to 80 lbs. I am well within that limit at 25 lbs. I am trying to be as cautious as possible concerning ratings.
Any suggestions or feedback would be much appreciated!
I have the space to work with - the concern is drilling the needed four bolts in the transom to secure the bracket.
