I'm in the process of securing my existing 2 tempo 12 gal plastic gas tanks under a new seat and Rps back. When I bought my new/old 1980 Montauk all it had was a bungee cord wrapped around the gas cans and z bar legs.
Need someone to advise me of proper placement and hold down options.
Thanks

I forgot to add that the gas tanks fit under the new seat with good clearance.

Whaler made place mats that held the two tanks in place. (12 gal. tanks.) Maybe you can still order them.

A quick look in our "OEM Part Info and Photos" link will show you what was originally under those fuel tanks.

bungie cords could also be used with the footman loop at the rear of the tunnel holes and holes in the Z legs along with the mats.

Thanks for the info. I went with bungee cords in the rear of the tunnel hole and drilled holes in the Z legs and buying mats.

Every Z leg I have ever seen already had small holes in them for the bungie cord ends.

Joe you are correct. I was looking at them in the evening in the dark. I noted the holes this morning.
I have the damn flu/cold that going around and pissed off that I can not work on the boat. First time I have ever done something like this but am having a great time. Thnanks for all your help and assistance from other BW people.
Thanks
