Recently purchased a 1968 13' Whaler without side rails. I have been trying to locate a decent canvas cover but having a hard time. Called Mills and Co but I don't really want to spend $700 on a canvas for a boat of that value. I haven't been able to find anywhere else that has that boat specs in their system. Anyone have a rec or is there other years I can use to search?
Also, mine is a side console. Does that make it a standard or a sport?
I can say that Carver Covers make an excellent cover for Sport 13s. The price is dependent upon the fabric selected. My Sunbrella cover from c
Carver is excellent.
That's funny, I recently purchased a 1968 Whaler "Sports" (I think they changed it to 'Sport' at a later date?) model. I have a custom center console and a RPS that stands about 36" high measured from the floor of the boat. No railings, same as yours.
I ordered a cover from these guys on eBay. Shipping has been slow. I think they make them to order? I'm hopeful it will be a decent cover. I'll let you know how it works out and provide some pics once I finally receive it. It did say in the auction it would take 15 days to ship. Here is a link. I can't say anything more about their product until after I receive it. I paid about $175, less than the buy it now price. They accept best offers.
Well that didn't go well. They contacted me two weeks after the purchase was made to ask again what color I wanted!
Since I was worried it wouldn't fit and it hadn't shipped, I asked again if they were sure the cover would fit over the console and seat. I had previously sent them the dimensions and been told yes. I sent them a picture along with the make, model, dimensions of the console and seat again and they responded by basically asking what boat this was for???
How do you offer a custom made cover for a 13" Sport and not know the dimensions! Since it had been more than two weeks and they had yet to ship anything and they didn't respond to my cancellation request I opened a case against them. No matter what at this point I'll get my money back, someday.
Here is a picture of the boat. I can't post images here obviously?
