I recently purchased a 99 outrage 26. I need help undstanding the fuel tanks or tank.port side labeled fuel takes 100 gallons and gauge reads 1/2 full. Starboard side says waste but looks exactly as the fuel cap. Boat has no ports potty and is a one owner boat who died so cannot help with questions
Take off the cap and sniff. You will be crawling over the whole boat getting familiar with all aspects (wiring, fusing, access ports, etc...). Really snoop around and a lot of things will start making sense.
Have you been inside the center console yet? Boston Whaler had 3 options on that model that I am aware of, including a marine head in there. There was also a porta-potti with pump out option as well, and both of these options necessitated a waste holding tank.
The only Outrage 26 that I have been on did have the marine head. Make absolutely sure there are no connections for head plumbing The porta-potti, or the marine head, might not be in there, it may have been removed, but the holding tank, macerator pump and valves, and plumbing could still be in place in the boat.
The starboard side is the correct Whaler design side for the waste holding tank pump out tube that would have a cap with the word "waste" on it.
No head or plumbing for head. I just cannot figure out why the port fuel cap is full and she only showing half tank. I know the gauge works because she was empty and 100 gallons = 1/2 tank
My 1999 Conquest has the porta potty with the cap on the port side deck for "waste" pump out next to the fuel cap on deck. No holding tank, just designed to save you carry the port potty out of the cabin.
I never used it, just take the potty out of the boat to empty.
