2004 270 Outrage Stern Ski or Tube for Inflatables Post
I have a 2004 270 Outrage and I am looking to add a post or frame off the stern so that I can tow inflatables or skiers. I have two 225 Mercury Outboards. I have seen a triangle shaped frame before but I can't find the owner of the boat. I assume it is put on the stern rail or at the top of the transom (in the middle). I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
Look at Turboswing if you've not already. I have that on my 1984 Outrage 25 with twin Mercury 150s, and it works great - very easy to install. I've used mine for about 4 years.
Mine is setup with 3 pulleys, with dividers (rope wrapping) near the edge of the back bar. When I pull two people at once, I use the outer pair of pulleys, which end up about 7' apart, and when I pull just one I use the middle pulley.
When I bought it the person at Turboswing said it was strong enough for up to a 3 person tube. We mainly wakeboard but have pulled some with a 2-person tube with two adults - no problems with it.
