I'm planning on changing the two captains seats to a leaning post so that I can store an extra cooler underneath. Thinking more on the newer style versus the original swing back teak.
Hopefully get some pictures examples, websites where you purchase leaning post, suggestions.. etc..
Your options are many.....You can look for something pre-fabricated that fits your needs (and dimensions). If there is an aluminum marine fabricator near you (towers, leaning posts, bow rails etc), stop by and get a quote for something custom made. I had a custom leaning post made to my specs with rod holders facing the stern. A small cooler fits underneath. The price was resonable......something to look into.....

If you are at all considering the RPS style, I think it is a great design. You can use it as a faux leaning post by reversing the seat, and you still have seats for those times when you or your passengers want to sit. I use mine in the reverse position all of the time to pull up crab pots.
I mention this because there is one for sale in northern California.
