I usually take my dog when I go fishing and he really loves to ride up in the bow. He's terrier so not real tall and ends kind of balancing on the inner sections above the anchor locker. The non-skid gets slippery with spray and I'm thinking covering both the side sections and locker cover with dri-deck sections would be a good solution for traction and easy cleaning. Any suggestions for attaching it, I hate to drill into the boat but to work they'll need to be secured. The locker cover is not as much of an issue.

Cup Holders - any good suggestions for an Outrage styke console, I'm tired of wiping up coffee from wedging a travel cup behind my fish finder. I'm thinking either the foldup models or theones that attach to the rail.

Will appreciate any input...

I wonder if you could use a 2" wide heavy duty velcro?
Also thought the zip tie sticky mounts could possibly work.

We have a fold out cup holder as well as standard one on our boat.
The fold out seems to work fine for up to 20oz soda bottle.

Can't help with the dog stuff, but I use Cuda Customs rail mount drink holders. Superior product and good guys to deal with. BTW, I used to wedge my coffee cup behind the chart plotter as well, messy option.

As you may know I installed dry-dek on both my Montauk 17 and Outrage 17. (see my photos)

I did not use any fasteners. By going around the front cooler cleats, under the console and RPS, it was locked in place.

Dri-dek works well on the deck. If you want to cover raised areas, I would look at some shock mats (cut to fit) and some small suction hooks.

Cup holders on a boat (in my opinion) are pointless on the ocean, at least in my experience. The only solution that works for me is something like this:

I attach it to my belt.

I never leave home without my coffee.

If I were doing it I would try making a slice/cutout in one of the dri-dek squares for the bow eye. That might be enough to keep all of it in place up front for your pooch.

I am a coffee man myself. I had several embarrassing coffee spills yesterday and will probably purchase the mug Phil is shown with (great picture). For my own boat (1979 22' Revenge) I installed several heavy duty cup holders. The local Safeways in California had them installed on their shopping carts. I got some from the distributor that sells to Safeway. The manufacturer (printed on the cup holder itself) is www.caddyproducts.com and they carry a full line of commercial grade cup holders. In fact, the grocery cart version that I have is a perfect fit for a fire extinguisher. Mine are just heavy duty black plastic but their catalog has a selection. I did not have contact info until after my purchase.

Thanks for all the the good feedback. What I may end up doing is to go with dri-deck as Phil has mentioned and purchase the foot area padding used on SUP surfboards around the gunnels and chain locker cover. I'll look around for some type of adhesive that has good removal properties.

Lot's great cup holder ideas - I may go for quick and dirty suction cup model for the helm and go permanent for next season. Santa may bring me an upgrade to my 3" FF\plotter ;)

One more fix, this weekend it was a little bouncy coming back in and Murphy was sitting on the cooler cushion (which is attached by a bungee over the top, snaps long gone). The cushion would shift with each bounce. Adding velcro will take care of that - got to take care of my little bud...
