Shilshole and Elliot Bay July 9th Whaler Sightings
I saw two nice whalers on the 9th and waved to each from a distance. The first looked to be a Montauk and was headed into Shilshole Marina as I was headed ou to Eagle Harbor and the second was pulling into a fairway in Elliot Bay Marina which I believe to be an 18 outrage. I waved to both skippers and admired from a distance the sight of a nice Whaler cruising and enjoying the exploits of Puget Sound. I was cruising with my wife and and an australian shepherd from Shilshole to Eagle Harbor.
I would love the opportunity to check out other Whalers as I do not know anyone else in the area with classics. I find that there is much to be learned from checking out other boats as I slowly restore my own '85 Montauk and would welcome the opportunity to meet up at a marina (or available watering hole) should anyone be interested. If you think you may be one of these sighted boats and have some free time, let me know.
