I have a question I am going to replace the bow chock and light assembly on my 1986 Montauk 17'.
Before I install is there a need to fill factory holes to get a tight fit?
Im having a hard time figuring this out!
Thanks. Tim
(please follow guideline #1 on the front page and use the full 4 digit year)

The bow chock has nuts and bolts that go thru the bow lip so no need for a tight fit of the bolts.

follow-up question on bow chocks for this era Montauk: has anyone had their re-chromed? or is re-chroming not an option for this part?

Yes, they can be rechromed. I had 2 of them done at a local firm, and they look fantastic.
