I put a cover on my 190 Montauk by myself, its nice if your able to step off swim platform onto finger pier. Last year I had to step across cover after it was on to get off boat. This year made sure I got a slip worked the way I want when bow into slip.

I have a Mills mooring cover for my Montauk and I find it easiest to fold/roll it how you intend to put it back on. For example, I always put mine on bow-to-stern, so I roll it up stern-to-bow and then fold in half. At dock, I always tie up on the port side, so the roll is the same (stern to bow), but i first fold the entire cover in half length-wise and then roll so I have half of the cover to attach on the starboard side, then work my way around the stern and pull the other half over the console & RPS and attach the port side from the dock.

Note: my cover has the bungee & hooks, not the Mills clip system, but should work the same.

I've had two Mills mooring covers that I've used on my 1978 Whaler. Love them. It's kept the boat in very good condition due to keeping the sun off it. I keep my boat in the water all summer and use the cover during the weekdays. I start at the bow and work my way to the stern tying down one side and then "sitting" on the engine to tie the other side and then I step on the transom (which is under the cover) and step off the boat onto the dock. I have to rig in some lines to address the front cleat being covered by the cover.

Its funny I was talking to a buddy just tnite about his 17 outrage and his jmills mooring cover. He said he uses it while its on the mooring and stores it in a canvas duffel in the dinghy when he takes the whaler out which frees up storage space.

Looking forward to seeing how well I can get my cover on at the dock. I am prepared to end up in the water lol
Good discussion so maybe I can devlop a system that works and keeps me dry :-)
