Anyone have an idea where I can get the original 4-spoke, stainless and wood trim steering wheel for a 1972 21 outrage? I have the original but the wood trim pieces have split and two have fallen off entirely and it's also missing the center hub wood cover. Is there a company that actually restores these things?
Not long ago I was completely shocked to find a beautiful condition 1971 21 ribside Outrage III tucked away in a neighbor's garage, which had the special wheel. The boat had actually been used by Dick Fisher. When I mentioned the wheel, and that the original one on mine was long gone, he said he had ANOTHER ONE, brand new in the box, as a spare. I offered him $300 for it and he turned me down. But I'm not giving up hope yet! Incidentally, the Outrage III wheel is slightly different (and nicer I think) than the Outrage I wheel.
