Uncertain, but based on the knowledge and information all have provided on this site it appears the early Montauks (years 73-74) had the winged-consoles. I came across a console from an 1981 Montauk that I would like to install in the 1973. Obviously, easy to center it from side to side, but need a fore or aft dimension to fasten as close as possible in the original (manufacturer) location? Sorry for all the words...I guess I could have just asked the question: Are the winged consoles in the early Montauks (73-74) the same size as the later Montauks (76-?) and if so, are they placed in the same location?
