Two weeks ago we put the Montauk on the trailer & made a week long road trip to:

Irvington Virginia to launch onto Carter's Creek & the Corrotoman River, both tributaries of the Rappahannock

Wilmington, NC to launch on the Cape Fear river

Charleston, SC to launch on the Stono River & also Charleston Harbor. (Many thanks to WC member blacksmithdog for local knowledge)

Solomon's Maryland to launch onto the Patuxent River.

A number of photos uploaded to my personal page.

All in all really lucked out with fantastic weather all week & the resulting great boating conditions.

All the ramps we used are found on line & in great shape.

It was really relaxing to visit new waters, explore some areas, and enjoy great local restaurants.

Let me know if any questions.

Looks like you had a great time. Sorry we couldn't hook up, even though we were both in the Charleston Harbor on the same day.

You need to seriously consider launching in the Potomac River at Gravelly Point, just off of Reagan Airport. You can get a great view of Washington D.C. and then cruise into Georgetown for a meal. Its fun zipping along and passing cars on the road stuck in traffic. Its also cool having big planes taking off a hundred feet or so over your head!

The Potomac is on our list now, especially since my son & daughter-in-law now live in Alexandria. I know exactly where you are talking about.
