Good morning all, I have just joined the Boston Whaler family with a classic Outrage 18 after spending many hours on friends Montauks!
Its in pretty good order but needs a little bit of love. The main 2 jobs are the RPS (currently has pedestal seats) and the rub rail.
I want to convert to RPS, I realise there is a wealth of posts regarding the subject on here but the main choice I have for reproduced models is the choice between Teak and Mahogany. Has anyone put a Mahogany RPS on a classic outrage that has teak gunwales and console doors? What have the results been?
Secondly there is one small section of the rub-rail that is damaged. I am tempted just to buy the inner section as that’s all that is damaged but I cant seem to find a photo online of the profile or any part numbers.
Im not going to start on the bow bit because it looks like a lost cause - think its a case of finding a local fabricator to get inventive?
(I am away from the boat until Christmas due to work - spending most of my time in the Caribbean and Puerto Rico so stocking up on the wealth of BW bits in ths states before I go back to the UK)
Thank you all in anticipation.
