I am brand new to Whaler, but love getting out and enjoying the beautiful short summers here in the PNW. I keep the boat between West Seattle (alki beach area) and Herron Island in the South Puget Sound. I don't necessarily have the time or the know how to try to plan an event, or even know what an event would look like as I haven't been to one before, but if someone did, I would suspect you would get at least one person to show up (ME). So, is anyone talking about putting on together around here?

Josh,
We have a rendezvous planned fro 8/24-8/25 in the Oak Harbor & Coupeville area. There may be another boat coming up from Seattle. We have perhaps 6 coming down from the north. It would be great to meet you if you can make it.

I would like to come if it works out with the schedule. When will you know specifics so I can check for local overnight moorage as well as a chance to get lodging accommodations? Do most people bring their wife and kids, or is this usually a "guys" trip? Trying to plan accordingly so I can "under sell" to my wife and plan on bringing a fellow boating buddy, if necessary. :-)

89O20,
I'm bringing my better half...so there will be at least one other gal around.

Josh,
We may be about as specific as we get. Many folks will be in Oak Harbor Marina about 11:00 or so, I'd guess. There is an outer guest dock that we'll likely meet at, and then decide what to do. I'll check into reserving the guest dock. I'll be bringing a crab cooker and pot. John Martin will be bringing a pot and other goodies as well. Someone will bring beer or wine I'd guess.

I'll probably both be on my own and not stay the night. Some others will stay for the night though.

Do you have a VHF or cell?

If I'm the only Canadian coming down, should I be the one to bring beer?

We might make it down, nice drive from Vancouver, and the wife does like Coupville. We will not be bringing the Whaler as I do not have a tow vehicle right now.
