I located the BWI number on whaler central for the steering cable, BWI NO 074239, and it says 14 feet length and NFB. West marine sells one with 15 feet. But where can I buy the correct one on line? I would like to buy the cable at a place where I know it will fit.

Thanks, Thomas

Surplus Marine sells 14' NFB systems.

I don't see just the 14' cable.
However, many times it is cheaper in the long run to replace the whole system.
How much is just a cable?

Thanks, I found it and the price on the site is fair compared to others. You are right about needing the whole set, not just the cable. The steering froze up, and the cable no longer moved, even after I disengaged it from the motor. From my reading I take it that replacing cable as opposed to just trying to disassemble and grease the cable, is the best.

Absolutely. Replace the cable or best is actually replacing the whole system at not much more cost.
Then it is all new.
