I have two old Tempo 12 gallon fuel tanks that have the Moeller 62100410 type fuel withdrawal assembly. The inside plastic withdrawal tube slides into the bottom of the fitting with a single o-ring to seal the connection. I think the o-rings have deteriorated and are causing an air leak on the suction side of the fuel line. One tube spins easily in the fitting and the other is stiff but the o-ring looked deteriorated when i pulled the tube out. I'm wondering if i could just replace the o-ring or drop $80 on two new withdrawal assemblies that might have the same design... or do new tanks have a different design on the suction tube...threaded connection?
Thank you, i'm going with new tanks that have a different design because the seal around the level guage looks sketchy too, like it could allow water to leak in from the top. These tanks are probably 20 yrs old anyway... if i'm reading the manufacture date code correctly, they were made in 1993! Time for new tanks...
Update... it was a bad fuel pump. Also, i decided to order new withdrawal assemblies instead of new tanks.
Received the new assemblies... tubes too short... Moeller sent me new ones and they were wrong diameter... Moeller said they couldn't get the correct tubes so... $$$ wasted on new assemblies.
I recently got one new Moeller 620009LP 9 gallon tank for now with plans to buy a second one soon. Two 9's will fit under the rps better than the 12's anyway. 18 gallon total capacity should be plenty for me.
