Just bought a 1989, 22 outrage, cuddy, WD with twins in mint condition... I can hardly breathe...The only thing I would consider for this sweet puppy is a T-top... Any ideas or suggestions?

Sit down, and think, think about what type of boating you do, There are so many things you can do on a t-top. Radio box, antenna mounts, gps mounts, side curtains, canvas, rod holders, outriggers, pre wire, lights (and navigation lights), build the top oversize for more shade. Floor mount or console mount, hardcover or canvas cover top Do you want to be able to connect other canvas to the top for overnights or just more shade. So Like I said sit down and think, and I would go with a custom alum top....

All of what Contender said with some additional considerations. Where will the boat be stored and can the T top fit into the garage or storage building. If trailering the boat you need to consider the T is a sail of sorts and does take some strain at 60 or 70 MPH.
Being a fisherman I highly prefer a T over the Bimini with the poles and straps in the way when trolling but there are some disadvantages presented with the T. It all comes down to how you use your boat and how you can get around the various issues. As Contender brilliantly said, sit down, think for a while and weigh all the possibilities before pulling the trigger. I like the SS T tops by C.E. Smith but I am sure there are many others out there that will work nicely in your boat.

You would be wise, if you do install a T-top, to select one that is mounted to the floor and the console.

Hey guys thanks for the info....the more the better. I have some concerns about mounting to the floor. I located an older top that supposedly came off a Whaler but the guy doesn't know what size or year. It seems to only mount to the console (top, sides & bottom - 8 locations in all) it needs some work but it looks like it was an expensive unit when new...(rod holders, elec. box etc.) The guy is looking for a $1000. It will also need new canvas. Unfortunately I don't know how to post a picture of it nor am I knowledgeable about installation. But I appreciate any and all advice. Thanks again.

If it is a Whaler T-Top it would have to be for a completely different console than the one on your 1989 model. I would get measurements on all dimensions of your console and insure that it will fit. Just because it came off a Whaler does not mean it will fit your 1989 console or that your 1989 console can support it.

There was only One Genuine Whaler "Tee-Top" (as Whaler called it in their catalog) that Whaler made that I know of and that was for the 40" Super Console and Outrage 25' models.

Ok, I just got some measurements and since my new puppy is in SE Georgia I can't actually measure the console but I think it's the smaller one ~36". The info from the seller is a little sketchy but basically as follows, " inside measurement is 36", front legs are 74" and rear are 77", 36" between both sets of legs and the estimated weight is ~150 lbs. He also states that it's 7' long. These are his words and I'm still trying to figure out if this thing works for me.
If I could only get to my boat and then to his top I'm sure I could figure this out. Any thoughts on it's weight?

Here is the only original and genuine T-Top I have ever seen for the Classic Outrage models.
I do not know who made it. Anyone?

Hello ,
I have a 22 OR 1979 Standard Console . I have the SS T top by C.E. Smith with electronics box . It fits great, I would recommend . I used backing plates when I mounted onto the deck . Check them out at Jamestown Distributers I think its called or West Marine.

How about these foldable T-Tops from RNR Marine http://www.rnr-marine.com/index.shtml
I have a 1996 15' Dauntless and it looks like a nice unit. Except I don't have the windshield grab bar on my center console. I have the Fishing Package with no windshield and a console grab bar that is just on the console.

It seems heavy to me. I sold a basically new all stainless T Top for my 190 Outrage for $750. I'd estimate its weight around 80 lbs Also I would prefer mounting to the deck because I'd worry about just the console taking all the stress. Just use the tried and true hocky puck method for attachment points for strength and so you don't start collecting water in the foam.
