Hi Everyone
Redoing my back bench seat on a 1990 25 Outrage, but looking for the original color. This seat was reupholstered some time ago, and cannot match the color since it is not original.
Does anyone know the original color / color code or know someone who does?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scotch

As it stands right now Anderson's Manufacturing is the ONLY source for the OEM Vinyl as Hall's is out of business.

Specialty Marine also has it but I don't know if they sell just the material.

Specialty's Vinyl is not the same quality nor exactly true to OEM color and texture. Anderson's sources the vinyl from the OEM manufacture. Specialty does not. Close enough is fine for some, but not everyone.

And you know this how?
We always like to know the facts and any links you may have.
Looks the same to me.

I find it hard to believe that Anderson is the only one in the world that can buy that material.

In a detailed conversion I had with Lois Hall when I ordered my interior last year she said she was closing her doors because #1 she was getting old she said it was time. #2 Was the OEM manufacture's machine that did the pleating and texturing broke down. Since she and Anderson's where the only two buyers who used that specific machine they wanted a large financial commitment in a minimum material purchase to fix the machine. Lois said she could not make that kind of purchase so, she decided to close the doors.
The producer also said that if no one was going to make the minimum order soon there were going to retire the machine as they got so few orders for material requiring it's service. Anderson's lucked out as they had bought a large order of OEM material before the manufacture's machine broke so that left them with a good stock. From other's conversions with Anderson's since, it seems that Anderson's has recently stepped up and made that financial commit to the supplier and is receiving new stock.
As for the Specialty Marine product, you can not judge it's quality, true color nor texture from a small image on a screen. When seen side by side, and you are able to feel the two together it becomes clear. Anderson's is the real deal. I am not the only one who noticed a difference in vinyl products, Tom Clark himself has been very clear that there is a CLEAR difference in what Anderson's produces as being OEM vs. Specialty's Vinyl.

If that is the case.
Then Specialty Marine, or any other company, that wants to make that investment, can.
Any idea on what the minimum investment is?

Lois and Harry (her son) stated the minimum order Hall's faced was going to be in $30,000 - $40,000 range of a minimum order which would have been 2500' - 3500' of material.

That is a sizable invest just to make cushions.
Do you know the name of the company that makes the material?

No. She would not tell me. I know Mike at Nautical Lumber has tried to get that info too with no success. Anderson's will not let that info go.
I did have some stock of raw material I bought from Lois last year. I have since sold it but, I do have images and I did take a photo of what was printed on the backing. I will have to find those images though.

Andersons must have bought more pleated material as recently as two months ago. I had to wait for it to come in for my bow cushions. They did a fine job and the quality and match of the material was great.
