I'm looking to buy the Stiletto Star 14" x 15" per Tom's advice for my Dauntless 15. Can anyone tell me a good dealer source to buy this prop? You cannot buy direct from Mfg. Best price I've found is $239, but do I need a hub kit also ??
As you look at various online dealers for a Star propeller, be aware that some still have old stock with the press-in rubber hubs.
There is nothing wrong with the press-in rubber hubs, it is just that they have to have the hub that fits your brand of motor. The newer "square bore" Stars use the hub kits so a single propeller can be used on any brand of outboard.
In some cases these old-stock propellers are offered at steep discounts to help the vendor clear them out. Here is one good example of this, a 14" x 15" Star II hubbed for a Johnson/Evinrude outboard. The price is $128 plus shipping. You will not do better than that, not even from me.
