We are taking a house for a week this Summer in Narragansett/Point Judith, RI - July 13-20

Does anyone know of a spot for a weekly mooring nearby?

Thanks,

I know you asked about a mooring, but you are 2 miles from the best boat ramp in the State. It's right next to the Great Island bridge in Galilee. Plenty of parking there too. If you have to drive someplace, deal with a dhingy, then get to the mooring, you might as well trailer. I launch my 16 there all the time.

Thanks for the pointer on the ramp

Can you give me any pointers for overnight parking at or near the ramp?
I do not have space at my rental house.

Thanks,
Neil

Where are you staying ? If you are close I would be willing to let you leave the boat and trailer at my house for the week .

Depending on where exactly your rental is, there is probably nearby on-street parking if you look for it.

I've parked overnight across the street from the ramp. I kind of doubt its specifically allowed, otherwise the people going to Block Island would all do that instead of paying to park. But every offshore fisherman that works out of PJ parks there for days at a time. Your call if you want to try it. I've left cars in the Stop & Shop parking lot for a couple of days before with no problems as well. That's a few miles away though.

Thanks for the great advice and hospitality. I missed some of the messages when I slipped off for vacation. I had very good luck squatting. I left my Durango and trailer in the big lot adjacent to the ramp in Galilee. I set-up a mooring inside the breakwater at the end of Ocean Rd. near Pt Judith light. Put on my flippers and swam to and from the boat - picked the kids up at the small pier.

I think it may be appropriate to revive this old thread to give updated information on the Galilee Boat Ramp at Point Judith (Narragansett, RI). It was recently reconstructed and the result is fantastic. There are now floating docks alongside each of the two lanes.
