After it is dry, sand to the point it is almost all gone and you will find it has filled all the little scratches and dents you wouldn't see until you applied the high gloss finish. you can then apply one more coat of the primer before the top coat. I winter in Ft. Myers and summer in St. Joseph, Michigan. It’s now about 12 years since I’ve joined this group. I gave my 1972 whaler to my daughter and sold the 17’. Bought an O’Day 28 sailboat and sailed on Lake Michigan. Yesterday I bought a 2005 130 Sport.

If you decide on Awl Grip topcoat I would use there primer. they have the high build as discused and they also have a primer sealer

These were/are very good products to use, I am completely satisfied, however I wish I had used High Gloss White instead of Semi-Gloss White for my exterior hull paint.
