So when i purchased my boat i did notice that it had a pretty good split in the glass on the starboard side rear of the center console.. perhaps somebody banged into i duno. Everything else is fine on the center console except that side, the side door doesnt close etc. This model has the tilt forward console. I was wondering if its even feasible to replace the entire center console ? Should i attempt to have it fixed ? Could i replace it with a more updated console or would that all be a waste of money. Thanks so much for responding.
The trick is to either do it yourself, or find someone who loves Whalers enough to repair it for a reasonable fee. I was quoted $1500 to repair my console, which had some excess cut outs for electronics in it. I completed the repair myself for about $300, but it took a lot of time.
thanks marko, the split is right at the bottom of the corner .. not sure if i should just leave her be or what. i in NO way am a fiberglass repair person .. so i'll ask around my lil fishin town if any of our illustrious clammers have a good repair guy!
