Our boat came with a professionally made cover but it was either made for a different model whaler or a smaller model. It's a heavy blue Sunbrella style fabric cover complete with rubrail clips that fit our boat (that's why I'm thinking it's made for a Whaler). The Guardian has a heavy duty rubrail.

It fits the bow and and goes over the console OK but is about a foot short around the stern and appears to be for a different style transom.

Not sure if we should consider getting it altered or figure out what it fits and post it here. No idea what a custom cover is worth, the material is in good condition.

Tomorrow I'll try to see if there is any kind of tag on it.

First of all, the Guardian 18/19 used the G17 console and it is taller than the Standard Outrage/Montauk console. It looks like your G17 console has even been modified with an even taller windshield. As soon as you increase the ultimate height of the windshield, you ruin the fit of a custom-fit cover because that it what it fits over.

Additionally, Mills only used the gunwale clips on Whalers up to, and including, the 16'-7" models. Furthermore, the clips only fit those boats if the run rail was the original one-piece to the Barbour three-piece, not the Commercial Grade rub rails.

If the cover has a tag, see if you can find a part number on it.

Checked the cover edges and did not see a tag, could not open it up in the storarge shed. Next week will try to lay it out and get some pix.

While I have heard of some private parties acquiring clips to incorporate in their home made covers, Mills is the only one I know of to use them professionally for their Whaler covers. If there is any info on a tag that indicates model/part number, you could contact Mills to determine what Whaler it was made to fit. I would not try to alter the cover since even a used Mills canvas could fetch a good price and then you could use the sale money to buy a new cover. You just need to know which Whaler your cover will fit (assuming it wasn't a custom made cover).

Thanks for the info,

It looks professionally made with "leather style" backing in wear areas.
