Sudden loss of battery power to Stbd. igntion switch
Went fishing one day and then went to go a few days later, and the Starboard motor wouldn't turn over. I have replaced the ignition switch, and checked every fuse I could find. I have a 1984 Whaler 27 with twin OMC 2.6L 235HP Sea Drives. I did find out today that the wire coming from the battery to the switch when tested with a test light is barely lighting the test bulb up. Also, along with this problem, the battery crossover switch isn't working. I have tested all connnections at the battery and they are fine. Can anybody offer any advice on what my problem may be? Is your setup connected to a Perko type switch which has 1, 2 Both and off? If so, it sounds like you have a bad or corroded connection coming from the Perko to that particular motor. Do you get the same reading on the volt meter on the out side of the swiitch for each motor. I would start by tracing those connections first.
