Does any one have the Removable, Folding, Port and Starboard Aft Seats for the Late Model 170 Montauks in their boat? Would you be interested in supplying me with some info on these seats? I would like to get some pictures of the underside and the attachement points of these seats and some seat measurements.
Thanks to any and all who respond.

Let's be a bit more specific.
Are you looking for the Montauk 17 seat or the 170 Montauk rear bench seat, older flip up (2004-2011) or the current seat option with backrest?
If you are looking for the current rear aft seats option (MSRP $1,300), I suggest your local dealer can supply the drawings/information.

Phil I am looking for pictures and measurement of the 170 Montauk Port and Starboard Aft Seats as seen in the seating options section on the Boston Whaler Web Site
See this link http://www.bostonwhaler.com/page.aspx...-Boat.aspx
These are Removeable Folding Aft Jump Seats.
The two dealers I have spoken with have been non-responsive to my request for pictures and measurements. The price of these seats is $1,377.00 if ordered with the boat. The price that I have been quoted
by two different Boston Whaler Dealers to buy these seats for my 2011 Montauk 170 is $1,800.00 plus installation.
I have the Basic Drawings from the Whaler Website but they are not very descriptive. I plan and fabricating my own set of Aft Seats and am looking for some detailed pictures with measurements of the underside of the seat and the attachment points. I hope this is specific enough. Thanks.

I changed the title to reflect Montauk 170 as the Montauk 17' stopped production in 2002......
It is obvious that Whaler does not want their proprietary drawings of their parts released for newer models....
They protect their investment...
Even older part drawings are hard to come by...
I don't see any photos of those seats on the page you listed....
Am I missing something?
Good Luck

Joe, if you scroll down the page to the seating options and click the little "photo icon", in the view item column, you will see the seats I am trying to describe.

Why would a dealer help if all you want to do is copy them and not buy their product?

Phil I have already bought many many many of their products. I do not want to copy them exactly, I want to build a better seat at 1/2 the price of their seats. I think it can be done better and cheaper. I would like to see the structure so that I get the attachment and bracing done properly. If they were to sell me the seats at a reasonable profit we wouldn't be having this discussion but $1,800.00 is crazy for these two seats even if they are adding $500.00 per pair for R&D it is still out of line. I hope that the seats that I build will be removable and also possibly useable as beach or dock chairs. I am just looking for a little assistance from the community and will be happy to share my ideas with the community once I have completed this project.

Gusgus do you have these seats or is this a picture that you got online? I would like to get some pictures of the underside and the attachement points of these seats and some seat measurements.
