Just acquired a Conquest 23' with i/o mercruiser 5.7. It's a 2000 model with a cuddy cabin and a sanipottie. I'm in the process of trying to understand the systems of the boat and I am having difficulty understanding the various water pumps.
I've tried to locate an owner's manual, but there isn't one. I've downloaded and reviewed the manual for a Conquest 235 which has a similar layout. However, they are not the same. For example, on the 235, the manual depicts two separate bilge pumps, one aft and one up front. My boat has one mounted on the transom and up front there is a pump, that is located where I would expect the second bilge, but that is connected to a macerater presumably for the pottie. Can anyone tell me how that works. Does that mean the pump up front can no longer function as a separate bilge. I do like the idea of two bilges for a boat that will be used offshore, so I am wondering if now I'm gonna need to install another bilge pump.
