I tried searching the site but didnt see anything. I know there was a discussion about replacement dash panels. I have a 1991 Montauk 17 and would like to replace the black gauge panels. Can anyone recommend a place to buy new ones that have the white outline on them.
Thanks
Ed

Ed,

Any dealer has them.

I got mine (for my Outrage) from Sue at Twin Cities. They have the white stripe. See my personal page/project album.

The best place to look for information on parts is the "OEM Part Photos" link on the left sidebar.

1. That is the first place anyone should start looking.

2. The second place to look is in the articles section under parts drawings.
Look at the OEM Instrument Panels here:

Thanks Joe
I spoke with Sue at Twin Cities and ordered 2 new panels. They are now $45.00 each.
Sue could not have been Ezier to deal with. I wish I had something else to order, I would love to give her/them more business. I cant say that about many places these days.

Ed,

There are two different panels for the Montauks for later years. Not sure about your 1991....
Did you order one of each?

The other one has switches, fuses, and writing on it for the switches.
Here is a 1991...

I am going to see what year they started this for the right panel.

It appears that all Montauks with the 1983 console and above used the metal instrument panels with switches and fuses on the right panel.

Here is a 1990 with the switches and fuses in the right panel.

Here is another 1990

1982 and below consoles used wood panels and the switches and fuses were on the left panel.

I figured I would revive this thread... As I said above I did purchase new left side dash panel from Sue. I spoke to her today and the right side panel with the switches and labeling is no longer available unles I want to have it custom made.
The right side panel changes to rocker switches and breakers in 2001, but it is the same size as the 1991 panel. The panel with the switches and breaker and horn button is $97 from Whaler.

I put a picture on my personal page. I think Im going to order one. I am hopping the wiring is EZ to transfer over.

All these things I am trying to ackomplish when they are rigging the new motor.

Has anyone made this change? Am I missing something?? Seems like an EZ upgrade.

Ed

Thanks

I never thought to order the panel with the switches etc. since I was re-designing my gauge/switch layout.

It is not to hard to cut a blank panel with a few basic tools and some cardboard for making templates.

Just to finish this thread. The dash is done and I have uploaded a picture of it to my personal page. I think it came out great, and it has room for one more gauge if I decide to get one.

Ed,

Looks great! You have inspired me to call Sue and set up my 1987 Montauk the same way. $95 + $45 seems like a great price to me and I love the newer switches.

Thanks,

Wilson

I have had many private messages asking about where I purchased my dash panels... The answer is above... The right side panel was $96.50 plus shipping... Left side was 45
Sue at twin cities was a dream to deal with.

Ed,

Do you have the part number for the right Instrument Panel?
http://www.whalercentral.com/photogal...oto_id=834

And the left one still has the same part number?
