Does anyone know if there are any secrets to installing new molding around the windows? Is there an easy way? I have the new molding but it is extremely difficult to push into the slots around the windows. Also, should the "cut" be located at the top of each window?

Thanks. In the process of restoring my 16.

Wally

I have never done this, but I have replaced rub rails, and found that soaking the rubber in a pail of hot water makes the job easier. Might be worth a try.

I got a wood 'pot holder' (about 1/4 inch thich, 12 inches long, 2 inches wide with rounded ends) and taped it in using a rubber mallet. Obviously you want to keep the angle of the holder very narrow to the glass and tap gently. Worked very well and saved my fingers from becoming raw.

Yes the cuts should be at the top of the window. And purposely cut it a little to long and let it butt up hard because as it settles the gap will widen.

If anyone is trying to find a supplier of a product, one of the first places to look is on the left sidebar under "Vendors Web Links"

http://www.whalercentral.com/infusion...blinks.php

We have a fairly extensive list of Marine suppliers that are also related to carrying Boston Whaler parts....

Thanks for this thread, I tried something different that was very easy. I cleaned out the white putty from the original window gasket. It was easy and went right back together. Easy Peazy!
