Can someone recommend a good ramp close in to town in Beaufort SC? The one at the downtown marina doesn't look like it gets used much, and is muddy a lot of the time.

Thanks!

Hello!

I use the boat ramp at Lemon Island which is on the other side of the Broad River Bridge. Lost of parking, clean Port-a-let, good water at low tide, double ramp, and great floating dock make this my favorite ramp. It is also never really busy. It may be worth the short drive for you!

I can't find that one on the SCDNR web-site:

https://www.dnr.sc.gov/mlands/boatramp/

Does it go by another name?

Hello!

The name of the boat ramp is EDGAR GLENN. Here is the link to the SCDNR website:

https://www.dnr.sc.gov/mlands/boatramp_details?p_id=303

BTW, the picture they have on the website doesn't do the ramp any justice!

Take care, Raymond

Had a great time in Beaufort this weekend. Took a carriage ride around the city, ate well, and took the Whaler out Saturday afternoon. We launched at the city marina, but the tide was dead low by the time we got back, and had to take out at the above mentioned ramp.
