Ah yes, ladies on a 13........yup see the need. I have a spare for a 22 CC Outrage, but that would be way to big for your 13 (also pricy), but recently had to need to search for platform parts and noted that there are plenty available if you search on the internet. I'm not familiar with the 13 and if one came as an option, but i'm sure someone here will.

brackets and all, its pretty big. It is an original 87 came with Raggedy, but wasn't being used as they had a more modern rig on it. The brackets attach under the bottom, and on the opposite side the top, so your transome needs to be pretty high to cover both. I can measure it if you would like. I'm not sure what a fair price would be honestly. I know what new ones cost, so i would have to do some research for an original teak one like this.

I've seen the stirrup-style swim ladders on 13' Whalers, but never anything more permanent... something like http://www.westmarine.com/1/1/22505-stirrup-swim-ladder.html

I swim off my 13' and find it easy enough to get back onboard but I've been out with others who needed a hand... I've never used something like I linked to, but it seems like it'd work OK - you'll still need some strength to heave yourself over, compared to an actual ladder.

Why not order the one thats on the new 150 Montauk. At least if it's an OEM product, you know it will hold up. Plus I've installed a few of these and it's a pretty simple installation.

I would consider reaching out to Ray Martin at Martin Marine design (he is a member as well) He will fix you up with something that will look great and maybe outlast the boat...:-) See my page, he made my Ladder. It was a collaborative design...:-) one of the first for a 17...

Not that I can help with this particular topic but after nearly a year of research, I'm going to contact Ray in the next week or so for a platform and ladder for my '17 Outrage. I've read nothing but good things about his work and the pics I've seen of his Whaler platforms look outstanding. They not only look great but seem well engineered and constructed.

The new 130SS comes with a ladder standard. It is a nice piece. It sells for $175 shipped. Just buy it!

Personally I like a platform as well.

Checkout Turpin's personal page. The last two photos show a ladder he built/made. he even gives some info on the how-to.

Be careful with some of the aftermarket ladders/platforms out there. I've seen a couple I wouldn't trust to hold a small child let alone an adult. Remember, you get what you pay for. Isn't that why we all have Whalers and everyone else secretly wishes they did??

On a 2001 13' Sport the problem I am told by Boston Whaler Tech is that the plywood at the transom does not cover the whole transome and mounting is the problem. Anyone tell me how to get around that ?Thanks !!!!
