I must say that I never did see so many used boats,and vehicles of all types being offered for sale lately. It has become a shopper's dream to view and discuss prices. My questions in topic will be What are the examples of having bought an additional Whaler and having it added to your fleet? How many boats have you actually owned at one time? How many is possibly too many? Some will have stated that one Whaler is just perfect, Two would be one too many. I know that personally I am forever looking at all the offerings in the hope of finding that special Gem... Dont lie Dont Cheat And dont give up..

Member Posts: 1926 Comments: 16 Joined: 05/02/08	Serge, trust me, currently with four classics, it can be a sickness, always looking for that one owner, stashed away for years right under your nose, barely used, unmolested, all original condition boat in need of no repairs. They are out there, but extremely hard to find and at the same time have it be local with the ability to be first to get to it. And when you do find that gem, have to be able to act in an hour or so! It makes for a great hobby. That's the only justification. The other thing is that you will reach the age and point where "two foot itis" no longer applies, and smaller, more classic, is better. That's where I am. Having bought a 25 Outrage new in 1989, and still owning it, the last two have been shorter and older, a 21 and a 19. I guess I'll have to finish up with a 17, and then leave the fleet to the kids!

I have gone full circle and end up fishing out of the Montauk more than any other. Fleet consists of 74,89 Montauk , 72 Cohassett 2, 68 Nauset, 15 CC ,and 18/89 Outrage. Time to thin the herd. When i was 12 I got bitten by the whaler bug. My next door neighbor got a 13 in his teenage years and moved up to a 17 later. Riding in those boats of his always made me want a whaler. 3 years ago I moved up to a 25 foot cruiser so I could take out the whole family for a few days at a time, what a load of work that is but lots of fun. Then 2 years ago I stepped onto a 1970 16 for dirt cheap. It took 26 years but I finally got a whaler, The 25 is just sitting this year, still winterized. What a dream the whaler is to fish out of, in just about any water.

I can't think of a more exciting event as to pick up another Whaler. Beside a good price,what may have been the factors involving the purchase of another model? Beside the obvious that is; I am a Whaler addict that will always double back to look at an offered model displayed on the side of the road. I always will scan the Motor Boat newsprint ads looking for the Boston Whaler titles. EBay, Motor ,boat ,Whaler, has gotten to be used so much that it will sometimes pop up by itself. And am still trying to find out as to why the Whaler stern logos seems to be getting increasingly smaller and smaller as opposed to other brands such as Sea Ray, Offshore and Grady White.. I am positive that I am not alone with this..hobby. I would absolutely love to see as many Early Vintage photos about the early years of production and ownership of the first Whaler model the Thirteen.. I would also love to see photos and hear of testimonials from the old and venerable Whaler Plant as an historic data. If they exist and someone is willing to share that is.. Member Personal Page Posts: 23 Comments: 0 Joined: 07/13/09	An old but poignant thread. Before 2009 I had never owned a Whaler, but as a kid in the 70's absolutely wanted one. Now I have two -- and my wife says that two is the limit ;-) We bought the '67 Sakonnet in '09 and I planned on fixing it up sometime. We took it out on the local lakes a couple of times, myself, wife, my teenage son and preteen daughter. It was quickly apparent that the Sakonnet would be a great one or two person fishing boat, it was too crowded for the four of us. I looked all Summer of 2010 for what I imagined to be the best boat for the 4 of us, a 25 ft Revenge-Cuddy. After months of searching, I found one at the right price back where I grew up (Long Island). We been able to take it out once, so far, and aside from fixing all the various problems it has suffered from, I think it was a good decision. So, the justification was we keep the Sakonnet long term as a 1 or 2 person fishing boat/bass style boat, and we keep the Revenge at least as long as we have children at home - if not longer. The Revenge is certainly a drier ride and can accommodate relatives and friends.

I became the proud owner of a 13 ft Whaler this summer and could not be happier with any other boat! But boat ownership has always been based upon "need" or "wants". My Whaler is by far the most versatile boat I have ever owned. I have had john boats to blow boats and my 13 sport is my most favorite. Why did I not get one before now? Current fleet is a 16 ft Triton for duck hunting, 26 ft Regulator for off-shore and 13 ft Sport for everything else. Living large at 41! John Lewis 1960 13' Sport / 30 Evinrude

I don't have a boat hoarding problem,I have a boat storage problem.
