Does anyone with a Montauk 17 have Lee's Tackle rod holders on their port and starboard side railings? I'm trying to figure out which size is correct for my boat. I used the measuring device available on their website, but the measurement tool doesn't even reach the "1" mark on my railings.
I've seen them on several Montauks so I know one of their rod holder sizes works.

Not sure what you are asking about size.
You have 7/8" railing.
So, the Lee's Rail Mount Rod Holders you want are for 7/8" to 1" railings.

I had a pair on my 1978 Montauk 17'

I don't believe that Lee's still makes the older style clamp on rod holders. You can call them, to see if they have any in stock, but they aren't for sale through their online store. Your best chance is to find someone selling them here or on ebay.

There is only 1 "Correct" Lee's Rod Holder for the Montauk.
I gave that link in my post above.
There are no other correct rod holders.

Joe is correct. The RH552CB is the only one.
I just bought three of these last week, bringing my collection of the Lee's RH552CB up to a total of seven.

Thanks Joe.
I just went to purchase two of them, but they're not listed for sale in their "e-store". Maybe you guys bought them all! Hopefully this is just temporary.

I am guessing that Tom picked them up either locally or like I do from ebay. I just picked one up there this week. Call Lee's, when I started looking a couple years ago, they found 4 in a box in the back room. They may have more but they no longer make the RH552CB rod holders. Short of them finding NOS your best chance is craig's list, ebay or posting a wanted message here and getting lucky.

Thanks Kamie. I e-mailed them and they told me they no longer make them. From your threas post it sounds like they have been discontinued for a while. I'll try e-bay/craigslist.

What would the going rate $ be for a good used pair?
What is the best new alternative available?
I need to get a pair for our August trip to Nootka.
