I`m looking for a stowable, collapsible swim <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span> I can use on my 13 footer.
Recommendations?

Rich,
I haven't seen on of those in a long time. I do have with one which came the family first boat, a 1959 Starcraft falcon... BTW, My parent bought this boat... just to qualify and it was starting to get old when we got it...<img src='../images/smiley/grin.gif' alt='Grin' style='vertical-align:middle;' />
Garlick make something that folds but it is still bulky. I have seen the rope based ones... They are lousy... Hard to use.... I would keep eyes open on ebay, bet you will find one.

I too am looking for a small <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span>. I seem to have seen a single step <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span> that will mount on the 13's transom. I am not sure where I saw that one....please advise if anyone knows where to find one.
Thanks.

Hi Guys
When West marine don't have anything I usually find something here at
http://www.whitworths.com.au/main_searchresults.asp
They are an Australian co. (Sorry your dollar not so good there any more) but have a look at the TREM Boarding <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span>, basically it just clips over the gunwale of the boat anywhere and pulls off to stow...
hope this heps
Paul

Bink -
Are you looking for the type that goes over the gunnel with hoops or that clips in to brackets?

I recently mounted a dive <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span> on my Outrage that is removable. It has a single verticle post with three steps & clips into a bracket on the transom.
This setup works great, but you need a place to stow the thing when not in use.
I will attach a picture later tonight when I get home.

Here is the <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span> & bracket assembly I mounted on my outrage. It makes a huge improvement to getting in the boat with dive gear; no more crawling up into the boat. It is a little tight getting up so close to the engine, but there were not too many options for this boat. I am not aware if BW ever had a factory <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span> setup.
I was pleasantly surprised how dry & solid my transom is when I mounted the bracket. There are a bunch of ugly repairs present, and I was not sure what I would find when drilling into it. Just for the record, that is not my fiberglass repair; the boat needs some (OK, lots of) love wrt the cosmetics.

I mounted the <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span> bracket to the inside of the splash well.

I found these videos online a few months ago. They test a number of different <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span>s.
US Boat Foundations #1 <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>Ladder</span>

You can find other <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span>s they tested on this page.

<span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>flippa</span>, You have the ultimate <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span>, but I don`t think a <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span> of that type would work on a 13 footer.

I had the foldable "Hook" type of <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span> for the 15' sport, the problem was that the "stand off's" would go under the hull, so it did not work well.

Turpin,
I would like to see pictures of your PVC <span style='background-color:yellow;font-weight:bold;padding-left:2px;padding-right:2px'>ladder</span>. Cheap and easy to build, won`t scratch the boat, sounds like a good idea.
