Bob,

I used to work for a chrome outfit many decades ago....
Find a GOOD chrome shop and you shouldn't have any problems having this done.

Bob,

It depends on the shop. The shop I use here in Seattle does excellent work and charges about $10 per rail fitting (quite expensive). It usually takes at least a couple weeks.

There are numerous well regarded chrome shops that take work via mail. You may even have a good shop in your local area. Ask around.

Bob,

You could re chrome but have you though about powdercoating? The finish would last a lot long and they have some chrome like finishes now.

Thanks for the information.$10 a fitting doesn't sound as bad as i was expecting.I just can't justify putting the nasty looking fittings back on the boat after going through the hassle of completely stripping it down to a bare hull and awl gripping it.I didn't want to make this boat pretty since i plan on using it for some heavy fishing, but thats the route it looks to be going.

I've gotta say, the shop I use,

Mastercraft Metal Finishing
1175-T Harrison Street
Seattle, WA 98109
206-622-6380

...does a better job than the originals. I have had them do several classic bow lights/chocks as well.
