Could anyone tell me how to go about removing and replacing the brass drain tubes in my hull? Thank you!

If the tube is loose, corroded or if the O ring is dry and cracked, then replace.

(if the tubes, O ring are okay, I apply Boat Life sealant (not adhesive) around the tube for added protection.)

1" Drain tubes and flare tool available from retailers and/or Twin Cities Marine (see below)

For the O rings, I would order from US. They are light and small so shipping not too bad. Best source is Sue Lodel at Twin Cities Marine. She ships international on a daily basis. Just email her year, model and what you doing, parts you need. Tell her we sent you.

What Phil said. 1" flaring tools are cheap on e-bay or amazon.

Sorry, I don't think my previous reply went through. If it did, my apologies for the duplication.

Thanks very much for your help with this so far Phil.

Unless I missed it, I do not see how to best go about removing the old drain tubes. If you or anyone else is able to offer some help with this that would be great.

The old tubes in my boat are in reasonable condition, but the O rings are definitely cracked and dried out on a couple of them. The brass is also corroded where the tubes are flanged to keep the O rings in place.

Any help anyone can provide is much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Take a flat head screw driver and place it in the groove where the O ring is (parallel with the transom) and hit it with a hammer to collapse the tube.

Do on the inside as well. Drive the tube out from the inside of the transom.
