Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: tilt trim bonding

I am currently in the process of installing a new tilt trim assembly onto my 50 HP year 2000 Johnson on my 15' Dauntless. I finally found one new on ebay at a good price. My set up has a bonding strap leading into the transoms "tie bar". During the removal of the old unit I cut this bonding strap and left about 4" remaining on the boat because I did not want to start messing with the engine bracket bolts to remove the strap from behind the tie bar (not that I am lazy-just didn't want to open a can of worms). Do they make a marine grade bonding clamp that I could use to connect the new bonding cable to the piece left on the boat or should I proceed with trying to access the tie bar. Also should I have a new tie bar on hand just in case or are these somewhat mallible-this is below the waterline so the unit has some corrosion and bottom paint on it.

Any one have any experience with this? Thanks
