Is there someone out there who would know which is the appropriate prop for a 90 h.p. Yamaha 2-stroke mounted on a classic 16 ft. 7 in. Nauset from 1967?

I have a merc 90 on a 64 nauset. I like the prop I have... but I don't remember what it is! I will look in the morning and try to get back to you.

I recommend the Stiletto Advantage 4.25 in the 13-1/4" x 15" size.

The Yamaha Painted Stainless Steel in the 13" x 17" size works well too, as does the Yamaha Performance Series in the 13-1/4" x 16" size.

Be sure the motor is NOT mounted all the way down on the transom. It should be one hole up for the Painted Stainless Steel model and two holes up for the Advantage or Performance Series models.

A Mercury 90 on a Nauset will do well with a Stiletto Advantage in the 13-1/4" x 19" size or a Mercury Laser II (or Quicksilver Lightspeed)in the 13-1/4" x 20" size.

The motor should be mounted two holes up.

I am using a 19 K series Yamaha stainless I squeeze 5200 RPM out of it, and can still pull skiers. I also have the 17. On that prop it will run right to 5700... with 2 adults and a full tank... Can't explain the big difference, but that what I see...

Thanks for the info. We have already drilled the transom 2 holes up and I will suggest to my Yamaha dealer that we try the Yamaha Performance Series in the 13-1/4" x 16" size.

New Info : I am currently testing this boat with a standard Yamaha aluminum 3 blade prop with a 19 inch pitch. The motor is mounted 1 hole up and the boat performs perfectly well. My guess is that 2 holes up might give it a bit extra performance since the boat runs very level at higher speeds whereas I'd like to see a bit of rise at the bow. I'll give the 2 holes up option a try next season.
