Some advice from Dauntless 14 owners would be welcome. Saw a nicely cared for D 14, 2000 with a repowered 2007 Honda 50. Privately owned but being brokered through a well known Boat Yard -- one of the original BW dealers in the area. $8 to 9k range. Decent price? Is the 14 too small for casual boating with a couple of adults? I have no plans to spend days at sea chasing sharks!! More interested in a spending a couple hours at a time puttering around the bay. Thought this might be a good entry point boat. Thanks

I'll jump in and tell you it's a great idea.
Can't speak to the price, seems the small Dauntless holds value pretty well and they don't come on the market all that often.
As for spending time on one, I've spent all day on mine running around the ICW around Charleston. Two adults on board, fishing gear, food and beverages. Never feels cramped. The Honda 50 sips gas and is nice and quiet. At the end of the day it's easy to get on the trailer and into the garage. Important points for me.

I bought one last fall - in great condition with a new Mercury 60 - literally two hours, but I paid a good deal more than that. I haven't had the boat in the water yet, but did a fair amount of asking around before I bought it. I guess it depends on what you want to use it for. I really liked the size/seaworthy combination. I don't think there is another boat under 16 feet that is as safe in rough water.
