Sorry if covering old ground, but I wanted to see if anyone has experience using "Peel Away". Does this damage the gelcoat? Any suggestions for a multi-season bottom paint? Can I get away with removing the paint completely and not redoing?

I have used it and used pressure washer to wash away old paint. Bottom was sanded so it was scratched up. Required sanding and buffing.......major job to look new again.

I would recommend the product!

I have often taken a coat off with an orbital sander, and I've turned out covered in blue dust, that stuff gets into everything, you, the tool, the boat, the house, etc...
I was going to attempt doing my usual marathon last season ( I take a few days AND NIGHTS, to get her ready for the season at the dock), and a friend stopped by and suggested the new
"Abblative" (not sure of spelling) type of paint that wears off during the season, so appearently sanding is not neccessary, you just paint again with the abblative anti-fouling paint, this is my first season using it. All I really know about bottom paint is that I was told that "INTERLUX" was the best, and it goes on easiest with a small roller, and someone to hand you the roller after dipping in paint helps a lot, you don't have to keep crawling out from under the boat to get the roller wet w/paint. hope this helped.

I have not used Peel Away so I can not comment on that. I did sand my bottom once and I agree that it is a messy job. Be careful not to sand through the gel coat. Bottom paint is a very confusing subject because there are so many options. Salt water, fresh water, trailerable, environment, ablative, etc.. If you want information on bottom paint (preparation, application, etc.) goto Interlux web site. They have almost all the answers.

I know someone who used peel away on their 22 outrage last winter. They said it worked great but, you could not let it sit for to look or elase it would start to make the gelcoat SOFT. I know others have used a product called citri-strip (I think) from Home Depot and reported though it took a little longer to work it did not hard the gel coat.
