I've looked through the first 15 pages and couldn't find anything about this in discussion.
1998 Dauntless 13. Drain tubes for exiting bilge water through bottom of transom allow water to flow the opposite way (into the boat) when not moving. What is missing?
Thanks,
Pete

Usually the bilge tube has a 1 inch removable plug inside the boat.

I went back to look for such a piece as you describe. Nothing like that, just an open tube with a rubberish flapper valve covering the external end of the tube. Which obviously doesn't work very well although the valve appears newish.

Are you talking about the two "check valve" type drains? My buddy had to replace them in his 98 13' dauntlass because the flapper portion was cracked and allowed water to come in when not in motion.

OK.
Then it sounds like you do have a flapper valve.
Like skiboat1 says, you may have to replace it with a new one.
Check with your Boston Whaler dealer and see if there is a better replacement.
Check with Sue at Twin Cities Marine. They are a Master Boston Whaler Dealer.
You can find their link in the upper right sidebar panel.
Let us know what you find out as I'm not sure who originally made this part.
I would be guessing that it was made by Perko....

Thank you all.
I particularly like the reference to a "Master" Boston Whaler dealer.
Just the title sounds like they really ought to know something. I'll try it.

Pete,
Just like at post #8 on this thread:

That is just one post of many here on Whaler Central describing how Sue Lodel conducts her business.
She is fantastic.
Tell her WhalerCentral sent you.

I've replace my flappers on the back of my 13' Dauntless, but it didn't take long for them to warp open just like the old ones. I plug mine from the inside, just too much water coming on board when running slow.
