Hi, I was on phone with Sue at Twin Cities today ordering a replacement clear deck plate for my gas guage, and asked if she knew of any way to get some wilcox bow lights. She mentioned someone on this site was refabricatiing them. I know Specialty Marine is one option, but is there another source?
Thanks-Stefan

The original Wilcox-Crittenden bow lights (used on Whalers) were only used on the 1981 and 1982 modes.
The later versions were used from 1983 through 1990.

Tom,
Nothing is written in stone. There always seems to be a transition period which may overlap to other model years as both of us know.
Whaler built 1983 models in 1982.
I have seen 1983 models with the earlier lights. Can't swear that they were original to the boat but can't prove they weren't either. Things like this apparently just don't end when the new boat year/model comes out as both of us know.
The lights may be just like the consoles, they used up the supplies they had before they started using the newly designed consoles, or lights, or other parts.
That is why I put down around 1982 - 1983
It could be some other 1983 models have the earlier Wilcox lights instead of the newer ones.
I want to make sure everyone here knows that there is always the exception and there can be a transition period for some parts.
Within reason of course.
