Hi guys, I have a few questions for you experts here as I need some help finishing the restoration on my 1972 Cohassett II. I got this hull last year, powered it with a 2004 Mercury (by Yamaha) 90hp four-stroke, and sanding the hull and painted it Ice-Blue and enjoyed the season. Now I am trying to finish the restoration right. here are my questions:

1) I have sanded the hull back down bare. Last time around I used Easy Poxy (rolled and tipped). It came out looking great, but was not that durable, I'm thinking of going with Perfection this time around, how is that to work with? any tips?

2) what should I use as the primer for the hull, will interlux 2000 work? I am familiar with that product for barrier coating bottoms didnt know if it would work for a topside.

3) What are your recomendations for thee non-skid after I sand the interior. I have removed the console, rails, etc and ready to start sanding but ive never dealt with nonskid before, whats an easy way to paint non skid.

4) The console is pretty well shot, I know its a shame not to use it because it's a rare Cohassett console, but i'd like to put in a nice replacement, what console do you guys recommend?

Geez, Joe if there is any way to salvage the original console I would do it.

Well if you get rid of the console you won't have to call it a Cohasset any more. You can call it anything you want.
