I contacted Magic Brush to order a 14" decals for my 1969 13'.
Referred by this site, I was confident this simple task would go without incident. I phoned my order in as not to have any question, and with the completed order the person who took the order asked if I needed anything else. I asked if they had capacity plates and if so how much. He said $5.00 and I told him to include it with the order. The decals were $25.00 and the capacity plate $5.00.
The items came a couple of days later and upon inspection the capacity plate was not what I had envisioned, and the Boston Whaler logo hull decal I felt was close but possibly opened for interpretation.
My entry here is only to inform those in a restoration to be sure the enthusiasm of your project is not capitalized on by the vendors that anticipate your spending.
The capacity plate I envisioned was the factory issue aluminum adhesive backed yellow bar noting persons or LBS.
The capacity decal received, whereas may be valid and accurate is not the anticipated one most likely ordered by the recreational restorer.
As for the Boston Whaler logo, I'll keep the vintage one on board for now, I can't bring myself to remove it for the sake of the purchase.

Peter,
Everywhere on our site I believe it states that the Capacity stickers are decals to be placed over your old capacity plate.
Here is a description under decals in our OEM Part Photos section:

You may have misunderstood as Janis at Magic Brush has never mentioned a metal capacity plate.
Not sure what you mean about the Boston Whaler Decal.
If it isn't exact, I would talk to Janis.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the BW harpoon and sled design From Magic Brush is an exact copy from the original hand designed and drawn decal by the original graphic deigner. There's no doubt in my mind that what you recieved from Majic Brush is true and correct.
Good luck with your restore.

I didn't get to speak to Janis. I think the point of mt entry is, to be cautious with ones enthusiasm and be fully prepared. I am still un clear if the metal capacity plate is available even after your direction. The link you volunteered does not clearly state if the plates are available an/or how or where aftermarket restorative decals are applied. I'm now going to just take the journey and find out just what and where they are. That's the fun in the project. I'm not throwing magic brush under the bus, and you guys are great, I just want to communicate that unless you do these resto's often be prepared for the learning curve.

Metal capacity plates are NOT available unless you make them yourself or have a trophy shop make one for you.
Boston Whalers have been made for over fifty years now. The logo is well established but the decals that represent them have had some slight size variation over the many years.
It is not uncommon for the decals to have a size variation of up to 1/4", but the style and shape of the unique elements is the same, and authentic ones are easy to distinguish from the many imitations sold on Ebay and elsewhere.

I believe the confusion is based on the term "plate". Plate seems to imply metal. The designs are available and you have Three options.
Option #1 is to have a vinyl replica made that you place over a worn capacity plate, to renew the look.
Option #2 is to have the vinyl replica made and then place it on a new piece of aluminum that you then rivet to the hull.
Option #3 is to take the file to a trophy shop and see if they can use the graphics to make a new "plate" on metal like the original.
Note, BW will not supply you with a replacement so the three options below are your only ones. if your capacity plate is still attached to the hull, you should use option #1 as to remove it is against the law, assuming you care.
There are more variations in the capacity plates than are shown in the downloads section. On my 13 footer they used a combination plate that combined the 13 and 15 foot information.
As for the logo, I never laid my new ones over my old one to see if they matched.
