Yes, yes, you're guessing right!:o I'm going to install teak deck to my Montauk project (at least I want to...)
I need (if someone have one) a 1981 Montauk 17 interior plan with dimensions to send to the company's guys to make a "ready to install" teak deck.

Please, any suggestions or info will be very much appreciated!

Teak decking is very beautiful when kept pristine. Best used on large open cockpits as you would find on Sportfish model boats. It is also very heavy adding significant weight. Its your boat so do as you wish, but be prepared to spend several hours a month putting fresh oil on it. If you varnish it you will be sorry, cause the foot traffic will wear and chip the finish. Then you will have a scale effect. If you do not keep up with the maintenance the teak will trap water in its pores and mildew will occur causing a blackening effect.

Might I suggest you research a product known as Plasteak. This stuff never dulls, fades or scuffs. Can be bought in many thicknesses and can be cut to fit the contours of the Montauk. Much less weight and no maintenance.

Good Luck

Tasosk, Are you doing a teak cockpit floor or are you looking to do a teak platform deck?

As for dimensioned plans of the interior of the Montauk I do not know of any available online. And if they were I bet the plans would be in Standard / Imperial (non metric) units.

Here is an example of a platform
