Was watching this movie the other day with the family called Hoot. It's more of a kids movie about some teenagers trying to save a burrowing owl habitat from destruction. Anyway they run around Florida in a nice 13 foot whaler and quite a bit footage is shown using the whaler. Here's a preview:

I saw it when it came out and did not think about the Whaler because I did not have the "bug" yet. It's a nice clean movie that's interesting enough for parents to sit through. Jimmy Buffett plays a teacher in the movie and I think he produced it. I can see we're going to have to rent it again during the coming winter.

Buffett is a Whaler guy from way back. The first boat he bought was a Whaler 13(?). He put it in an early video for "Come Monday" in 1973.

We have it in our DVD collection. Its a nice family movie. Jimmy Buffet was the teacher. I do not think he produced it though. There are about four or five of his songs in there, my favorite being Floriday's.
