I have a Montauk 170 with 2 6.5 gallon tanks.
Any suggestions for more capacity?
Thanks

The general consensus seems to be the Mirax aluminum 12 gallon tanks. I just ordered mine yesterday. I looked at alot of options before choosing them. The only downside is they are pricey.
They were one of the original suppliers to Whaler for tanks on Montauks. It will be nice to have the extra range with 24 gallons of fuel rather than the 12 gallons of fuel before. You can find posts on this site about them as well as other tank options.

My last Whaler was a 1978 Montauk 17 and I put a red poly 24 gallon tank under the seat.

Don't forget that a 24 gal. fuel tank only has a range of how far "8" gallons will take you..."1/3 there, 1/3 back, and 1/3 reserve".

Hi guys
Thanks for your help.
Moeller sent me specs on a new White 24 gallon tank designed for 15' and 17' BW Montauks.
Looks great.
