Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: engine mounting height for 15 whaler

I am remounting my 60hp yamaha on my 15 classic whaler. I'd like to raise the motor, it was mounted in the top hole and blind hole on the engine. If I use the second hole from the top the bottom bolt won't make it to the slot on the bottom. Any ideas? What is the best height to mount this set up?

Mount it two holes up.

Thanks Tom. How will that affect the mounting pattern of the holes? It looks like I would have to go to the 4th hole to hit the slotted portion of the engine mount. Any suggestions? I keep reading about folks using a jack plate with this hull.

No, only the third hole, which will put the motor "two holes up".
