Tiny matter of two unwanted keys from my defunct 135 Optimax
I know they are only $3 each but does any member want two free keys (Mercury - I presume) They are stamped "1E" - (one E). I'll drop them in an envelope and ship them anywhere in the U.S. - free.
If you want to be kind and take only one in the event of multiple takers, that's cool I'll work it anyway possible.

Are you able to use the same keys in different Merc engines? Are the keys re-programmable? I am not familiar with Merc products hence my question.

I could only find these keys at the BW dealer so I think they are all standard . If your key has 1E - these will work. Thats all the dealer needed to give me a duplicate.
Yes it's the final purging, my new key is so much cooler, sexier, high tech and brings the girls flocking ... have I told you about my new E-TEC yet? (Zzzzzz)
God bless the water, it truly is a wonderful thing messing about in boats.

Mark,
We all appreciate these types of things. That's a kind gesture.
However, I could use a
"Home in the Keys". Are you giving away anything like that?
I would gladly pay for postage.

It took me a second but it made me laugh.
Afraid not- if it ever happens - all welcome - must bring boats.

Ok...I'm a little dense at times. Are these metal cut keys or are they some sort of programmable plug in module type keys? Is there a specific code in each key which is specific to only a particular ignition?
?

Mercury has a series of metal keys. Not sure how many but the # stamped into the key is its type. If you have that # on your key these will work for you. I think there is only 5 or 10 #'s. Used to pick one up every time I would loose the key for my old 200 merc.
